How Bad Is The Traffic To And From Austin City Limits Music Festival?

I'm driving from Dallas to Austin for the ACL Music Festival. Has anyone driven back to Dallas on the Sunday evening? Is Monday morning any better than Sunday evening?

Answer:During ACL weekend, traffic really isn't an issue, but parking is anorthere story. You will have no problem driving back on Sunday evening, and I would definiteely recommend that option since dealing with Monday morning school and rush hour traffic in Austin would be a pain. I hope this helps; have fun at ACL!

I want to go to the Austin City Limits festival this September in Austin but can't go for all three days. Do they sell single day passes? And if so, where and when can I buy them? Also, when do they release the schedule?

Answer:The schedule is already out: www .aclfestival.com/lineup.aspx Single day passes only go on sale later in the summer, after they release the schedule. You'll be able to buy them online.

What Time Does The Austin City Limits Festival Begin? What Time Does The Final Act End? Need To Book Flight.?

I am booking a flight to the Austin City Limits festival. I can't find information about what time things get going Friday and what time the final acts will end on Sunday. I need this information to book flights. Does anyone know what times things began and ended in previous years? Does anyone know what times things begin and end this year? Thanks.

Answer:Usually the early acts start around noon or 1pm, and the headliner usually ends around 11pm or so. That being said, you probably don't want to stand around with 50,000 othere people from noon to midnight in Austin in September. It's hot, dusty and humid! Better to wait till the publish the set times and pick and choose who you want to see and then do othere fun stuff in Austin before you head out to hear the music.

How Much Do You Get Payed To Work At Austin City Limits?

I was wondering how much they pay you to work theree cause my mom said by next year maybe I would be old enough and maybe I could start working theree.

Answer:well unless you're in the industry you wont get paid. you can volunteer though. when you say "old enough" that tells me that you more then likely do not have a high school diploma or a college degree so theree is a good chance that at that age you will not only not be able to work for the festival but you may even be too young to volunteer - theree are liability issues for volunteers under 18 and as for people over 18 theree are liability issues if you do not have specificic expertise or experience in a specificic job (ligthing and sound, stage building, etc).

Here's a bountiful blues buffet from deep in the heart of Texas, courtesy of the long-running Austin City Limits television series. Texas talents--including Lightnin' Hopkins, represented by a suitably idiosyncratic "Rock Me Baby"; the razor-sharp Albert Collins, ripping through "Travellin' South" in front of a horn-powered band; and W.C. Clark, the godfather of the Austin blues scene, who sparkles on a song by hometown hero Willie Nelson--make the most of their spotlight time. And, naturally, there's Stevie Ray Vaughan, who leads Double Trouble through a tight and tasty "Love Struck Baby." Jimmie Vaughan's tribute to his blues brother, "Six Strings Down," follows in an example of the collection's creative sequencing. In like manner Gatemouth Brown's "Born in Louisiana" leads into Dr. John's New Orleans version of "Since I Fell for You," and Clark's rendition of "Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away" segues into B.B. King's personalized cover of Nelson's classic "Night Life." The honorary Austinites, including a rambunctious Buddy Guy and a solo Rory Block, also make considerable contributions, the best probably being Taj Mahal bouncing through "Queen Bee" with Ben Harper on slide guitar, although Keb' Mo's straightahead "Tell Everybody I Know" isn't far behind. --Michael Point
