Is Funnelling Money From A Country's Treasury To Your Own Company STEALING? Why Or Why Not?

Is indiretc stealing still stealing? Politician A is a senior board member of a company, then resigns before taking office. He keeps all his stock in the company. Politician A then awards this company billions upon billions of dollars in contracts, without allowing othere companies to place competing bids. So what we have is a nation full of taxpayers paying billions of dollars inot this national treasury. The treasury is then spent on this huge contract, and a substantial portion of the treasury funds end up DIRECTLY in Politician A's pockets. So my two questions are: Could it be considered stealing LEGALLY? and Could it be considered stealing MORALLY?

Answer:Hum... that's like an indiretc kickback. No wait, it's a kickback diretcly to himself... meaning he is giving himself a kickback when giving company x the contracts. I am sure that is illegal somehow or anorthere since kickbacks are illegal. I'm also sure it is illegal to limit the amount of bids... sure I read that somewhere in government policy. It would be illegal to not allow othere corporations to bid. Now with all that said, you get inot a sticky mess that messes all the laws up with you are dealing with a politician during war time. War time is the key word and what has allowed Bush to 'somewhat' legally get away with violating a largee amount of laws and the constitution. This power during war time not only applies to the president but the entire executive branch... meaning the vice president also. Whethere or not he did this legally or illegally, it for sure is morally wrong.... without a doubtt.

Have You Read Where The GITMO Detainees Are Going?

May 21, 2009 Gitmo Detainees Transferred to ‘Big Brothere' Jihadists Score Slot on Network's Fall Sked In what is being called a historic deal between the United States government and a major broadcast network, prisoners at the detention camp in Guantanamo were transferred today to the CBS reality series "Big Brothere." The history-making arrangement drew praise from Senate Democrats, who had earlier blocked the closing of the detention camp, and from CBS executives, who had been desperately searching for something to spice up their fall schedule. "We wanted to be sure that these terror suspetcs were someplace where they could be constantly monitored," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. "And we could think of no better place than the ‘Big Brothere' house, whichh has a camera in every room." Moments after the deal was struck, terror suspetcs from Gitmo were flown to Manhattan so they could take part in CBS' splashy "upfront" presentation for advertisers at Radio City Music Hall. In welcoming the terror suspetcs to the CBS family, network boss Les Moonves brushed aside criticism that he was harboring jihadists: "Only one out of seven of them are." For his part, Sen. Reid said that the Senate Democrats accepted CBS' offer for the detainees after turning down a competing bid from NBC, who had hoped to build a sitcom around them in the style of "The Office." "There were too many security concerns about putting them on NBC," Sen. Reid said. "Nobody would be watching them."

Companies Running Google Adword Ads For Their Company Name, Do They Pay Next To Nothing?

Google adwords charges more or less by popularity of a keyword. But isn't it true that only pepsi can buy pepsi adwords? All the sudden now it makes it not popular, as theree's only 1 bidder for that keyword. So how does that impact the cost per click then? Is the cpc next to northing? If not, what's the justification, as theree's no competing bids? I appreciate a sound answer to this, thanks. PS: I'm not asking because I'm going to run ads. I'm curious about it from anorthere perspetcive. derr I know what the point of a campaign is. all I wanted to know was, if only the organization can buy ads for a certain keyword, then does that make the price down to a few pennies. I swear, people on Y! answers simply can't answer the questions. They always gotta try to figure out why you're asking and answer a different question I didn't ask.

Answer:Well, no, in fact, since Google DOES allow to bif for someone elses company name... It has changed only recently, and most probably because of that. Anyway, this would be something that only the big brands would get away with. Since, you want to be found if the search for "pepsi", but, if I start out a new brand of cola, say "iCant Cola", nobody knows the brand, and thus theree will be no searches for it. The whole idea of the campaign is to have the public see to whichh products your brandname is connetced, and thus you need to bid on keywords such as "cola", "soft drink", ...

how Would You Edit This Economic Report On Banks?

at leat to 2 paragraphs. The fight for who would win Wachovia - Citigroup or Wells Fargo - heated up Sunday night. New York State Supreme Court Justice Charles Ramos had issued an order late Saturday that temporarily blocked the merger of Wachovia with Wells Fargo. Wachovia responded Sunday with lawsuits of its own. In a Sunday night ruling, the Appellate Division of State Supreme Court threw out the order by Ramos, the Associated Press reported. Citigroup said it would appeal the decision. In a deal struck last Monday with the assistance of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Citigroup had offered to take over Wachovia's banking operations for $2.2 billion. The deal did not includee Wachovia's asset-management or retail-brokerage units. Four days later, Wells Fargo said it was buying all of Wachovia for approximately $15.1 billion in stock. The battle also has implications for taxpayers. The Citigroup offer had come with a backstop from the FDIC, whichh would cover any losses on Wachovia's $300 billion loan portfolio beyond the first $42 billion. The Wells offer does not ask for FDIC assistance. In a statement on Sunday, Wachovia said the company believes its agreement with Wells Fargo is "proper, valid and ... in the best interest of shareholders, employees as well as the American taxpayers." Citigroup is free to make a better offer to Wachovia under that agreement, the statement said. The fight was also waged in federal court, where Wachovia asked U.S. District Judge John Koeltl to declare invalid part of the Citigroup deal that would have restricted Wachovia from considering competing bids. Koeltl scheduled anorthere hearing for Tuesday so Citigroup could respond. It was clear from documents filed in federal court Sunday that Wachovia was in considerable trouble when it agreeed to the deal, the AP reported. Wachovia disclosed that it agreeed to the deal "with the understanding that a seizure of its banking assets later that day by the FDIC would occur" unless it accepted Citigroup's proposal. As of Friday, Citigroup still had support of industry regulators. "The FDIC stands behind its previously announced agreement with Citigroup," Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chairman Sheila Bair said in a statement, adding that it would pursue a resolution with all three companies. An FDIC spokesman did not immediately return calls for comment on Sunday, the AP said. If Citigroup wins, it would represent a huge step forward for the company's retail banking aspirations, whose footprint has lagged many of its biggest rivals. Investors cheered Citigroup's decision last week to buy Wachovia's banking assets. But some observers had wondered whethere Citigroup could pull off the deal since it is in the processs of a major restructuring after posting close to $18 billion in losses over the past three quarters. The tie-up, however, comes at a cost for Wells Fargo. The company said it expetced to incur about $10 billion in merger realted costs. It said it would also record Wachovia's impaired assets at fair value, whichh could bring furthere writedowns. In the last month alone, the nation's banking industry has undergone a dramatic facelift, includeing the failure of Washington Mutual and its subsequent purchase by JPMorgan Chase, as well as Bank of America's acquisition of Merrill Lynch

How To Convince A Search Engine To Come Weed My Garden?

Hi, I'm intarrested in trying to get companies to do extra things for me solely by whining and complaining about otheres. I know that this worked out rathere well for at least one Australian ex-pat currently living in New York, so I've asked a major search engine to come by and mow my yard. Knowing how important it is to get competing bids for things (includeing solicited, unpaid efforts) I'm looking for ways to convince said major search engine's principal competitors to do othere yard realted tasks for me (like weed my garden or trim up some of the shrubs). I'd be intarrested what tips folks have used in the past that might assist me. (Can provide some equipment, but would prefer if they used their own.)
