How Is Amd Different Than Intel? What Websites Will Help Me Find The Difference Between Intel And Amd?

I also want to know the benefits of both intel and amd. To be more specific I want to buy a dual core processor, which is faster to buy an intel dual core or an amd dual core and more efficient?

Answer:This is actually a very interesting question. You will find people on both sides of the arguement. Most of them will tell you to get what they have because it is the best. It is the best because it is what they have, not becuase they have actually researched the differences. Intel makes faster processors than AMD does. However, those processors cost more from Intel. In some cases, many times more. Is it worth the difference? Only you can decide that. If it means winning a game that is important to you, then yes. If it means finishing a task in 10 seconds instead of 12 seconds and you do the task once a month, then probably no. If it is a task that you do hundreds of times each day for pay, than it could easily be worth it. Each processor must be measured on a scale that takes into account what YOU are going to do, not just what is possible. For example, I don't care about the speed of Chaos because I don't play that. I do care about the speed of Premier because I do use that. One CPU in a given price range may run Chaos faster, but a different one runs Premier faster. Also consider a quad core. At this time, some of them are not much more cost than some dual cores. There is a huge range of speeds and prices, so you can't simply say dual core or quad core. You must be more specific. Another important factor is ability to change in the future. Can you upgrade the CPU in your motherboard if you choose to? That is extremely difficult to predict, but you can make some educated guesses after doing that research.

What Is The Difference Between Intel 945 And Intel 4500 MHD Graphics Chips?

I just bought a new laptop yesterday and tried to use Second Life. It says my Intel 4500 MHD graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements. The system requirements say that the Intel 945 is needed. What is the difference? All laptops I can find seem to come with the Intel 4500 MHD. Is it a successor to the Intel 945?

Answer:It is the very latest in crappy Intel integrated chipset graphics. It's much better than the previous generation but not so you'd notice when it comes to games. Always check here before buying a laptop that you might play games on sometime during the lifetime of your laptop: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html and http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html If you just bought the laptop at some sort of consumer store like Bestbuy, perhaps you could exchange it for something with a decent graphics chip such as a NVIDIA 9800. Second Life appears to use OpenGL for graphics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Life There appears to be a variety of possible client viewers in addition to the standard one so perhaps one of those might work better on your low-end laptop: http://my.opera.com/boylane/blog/ http://sldev.free.fr/ http://nicholaz-beresford.blogspot.com/ http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Alternate_viewers The Second Life support site does not recommend Intel graphics: http://secondlife.com/support/sysreqs.php They seem to have a slight preference to NVIDIA over ATI. You should have no problem if you select a laptop with NVIDIA 8600 or greater or ATI 3450 or greater but if you want to allow for future expansion of the game and other games as well then a NVIDIA 9800 or 280 would be worth investigating...

What's The Difference Between An Intel Core Duo Processor And A Pentium 3 Processor?

I need a new computer for school but have specifics on what it is supposed to be. It needs a Pentium 3 processor, but all the ones I've looked at have Intel Core Duo processors. What is the difference, and will it make a difference if I get the Intel processor instead of the Pentium processor? Thanks!

Answer:Core 2 Duo is 4 times faster than P3.It has 4 processor cores.P3 only have 1 and of slow speed.Go for Core 2 Duo.Bye."ALLAH IS GREAT".

Whats The Difference Between Intel And Amd On A Computer?

i was lookin at a laptop and one is AMD and one is INTEL. Idk the difference. Which ones better?

Answer:AMDs are known to be cheaper than Intel processor. Hence why alot of people buy them, cause you get more bang for you buck. However, a 2.4 Ghz Intel processor is usually underclocked. So its really a 2.5 GHz processor. While a AMD 2.4 GHz processor is actually a 2.2 GHz processor that is overclocked by AMD to a 2.4. So in reallity you arent getting more bang for your buck. But if you are going with an intel processor go with an Core 2 Duo. Since it is fast because it has to paths to the ram instead of the standard one.
