It is the best because it is what they have, not becuase they have actually researched the differences. Intel makes faster processors than AMD does. However, those processors cost more from Intel. In some cases, many times more. Is it worth the difference? Only you can decide that. If it means winning a game that is important to you, then yes. If it means finishing a task in 10 seconds instead of 12 seconds and you do the task once a month, then probably no. If it is a task that you do hundreds of times each day for pay, than it could easily be worth it. Each processor must be measured on a scale that takes into account what YOU are going to do, not just what is possible. For example, I don't care about the speed of Chaos because I don't play that. I do care about the speed of Premier because I do use that. One CPU in a given price range may run Chaos faster, but a different one runs Premier faster. Also consider a quad core. At this time, some of them are not much more cost than some dual cores. There is a huge range of speeds and prices, so you can't simply say dual core or quad core. You must be more specific. Another important factor is ability to change in the future. Can you upgrade the CPU in your motherboard if you choose to? So its really a 2.5 GHz processor. While a AMD 2.4 GHz processor is actually a 2.2 GHz processor that is overclocked by AMD to a 2.4. So in reallity you arent getting more bang for your buck. But if you are going with an intel processor go with an Core 2 Duo. Since it is fast because it has to paths to the ram instead of the standard one.
