Internet Explorer-How Can I Set Content Advisor On Certain Accounts But Not Others?

I have 3 user accounts for Internet Explorer. One of them, used by a minor, is a limited account. I have blocked certain pages I don't want him visiting thru Content Advisor, which I have set a password for. This works great for the limited account, but it also affects my full access "computer administrator" account by putting the same restrictions on my account. I know I can override the blocked pages by putting in my password, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. But if I set content advisor for one account, it is enabled for all the accounts, no matter what type it is. How can I set content advisor on one account only?

Answer:Ok,this is one area where Windows Vista is usefull,Vista has a feature called Parental Controls which allows you to restict internet access for your children without affecting your own browsing, you can also produce an activity log of what sites have been visited etc. Unfortunately it means getting Vista,Microsoft does have a free program called Windows Live Family Safety Settings which has some usefull features but I have heard reports that is not exactly user friendly but it might be worth looking at. Do a google search for it,I think it might still be in beta testing. hope this helps anyway

Why Is Internet Explorer 8 Putting Previous Email Addresses In The Address Bar When I Compose A Yahoo Email?

The new Internet Explorer 8 Beta version is causing the problem. It's an intrusion into my control of Yahoo when I send emails and has already caused embarrassment when I sent a new email with a previous address Explorer 8 put in the box that I did'nt notice. Also how do I complain both to Microsoft and Yahoo! Cheers guys.

Answer:Yahoo! Cannot control/edit/change the email address that an auto-form-filler is placing in that bar. However, it is always important to make certain that you review your email message before you send it, as your email provider cannot be held responsible for what its servers are told to do by the information entered. Typically, auto-form-fillers (which IE8 comes with, as does the new version of Yahoo if the emails are in your contact list) will use historical data to try to suggest the address you're attempting to put in, much like predictive text on a cell phone. Ultimately, the best 'defense' would be to either turn off any form-filling add-ons in your browser, or simply review what is in your To: line whenever you send an email (which you should do, anyhow).

How Do I Get Internet Explorer To Stop Running In No Add-Ons Mode When All The Add-ons Are Enabled?

Internet explorer randomly started running in no add-ons mode. I have done the whole enabling add ons thing, and it still has the yellow bar pop down at the top saying "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled".

Answer:Open IE. Click on Tools, select Manage Add Ons, Then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.

How Do I Reinstall Internet Explorer And Erase All Of The Old Files?

If I reinstall Internet Explorer 8 - will it just overwrite all of the files. I think a bad virus or something took over my internet explorer because it is not functional but I can't delete it because the computer says it's being used. Will this solve the problem? I have an antivirus program and it's not seeing anything bad on my system. Crud - do I have to do a full install of windows to solve this?

Answer:You cannot uninstall it because it is apart of the Microsoft Windows Software. However, it must not be in use if you are going to install another version of it. To completely exit out of the Internet Explorer program and to be sure that it is no longer in use, do this: Hit these three buttons together = Ctrl, Alt, and Delete. From here, your Task Manager should open up. Click on the "Processes" tab. Look for this running file: iexplorer.exe Once you find it, right-click it. Next, click "End Task." If it asks you are you sure, just click 'yes' or 'okay'. Now you are safe to install another version of Internet Explorer, preferably version number eight, as it is the newest one. Once you install a newer version of Internet Explorer, the newer version will overwrite the old files, so don't worry about that. If your problem still persists after doing this, contact Microsoft's Customer Support line and/or look for solutions via the internet or a book, etc. Worst Case Scenario: You have to re-install Windows (I highly doubt this). Good Luck and I hope this helps!
