I was fired because of excessive absenteeism/tardiness- my employer did warn me being they had a "policy" and a point system for each "occurence." My last day there I showed up a few hours late, because of a personal situation with an ex-boyfriend who harrased me until 4am, causing me to oversleep 2 alarms I had set even though I tried to stay awake. I notified my manager as soon as I arrived. I had issues with a new boss hired, and she previously had written me up for ridiculous unfounded accusations such as yelling at staff, and being clearly "insubordinate." Answer:Your excuses are just that...excuses. You may win, but it's doubtful, from a legal standpoint. The "papered" you, and it was done in such a manner that has you locked into a losing situation. Time to find a new job, and get on with your life. And, get rid of the B/F, too.
I Have A Problem Collecting Unemployment Compensation From PA & NJ. PA Says I Don't Have Enough Earned In '08?
PA says to file an unemployment extension in NJ. NJ says I can't get an extension b/c of my open claim in PA. NJ says I did earn enough money to claim, that PA is wrong. Otherwise I could file in NJ. Where can I get some correct information please?
Answer:you need go to your local office and tell them that you wan to talk to a supervisor about this matter that one person says one thing and another say something different i would say where you got your regular benefits then you should get the extension

I am a contract engineer and a resident of Alabama. During 2007 I worked in, and paid Alabama and Illinois State taxes.
I also collected unemployment compensation from the state of Pennsylvania in 2007 as I worked in Pennsylvania the previous year and paid into PA unemployment that year.
I claim the unemployment income on my Federal Taxes.
Since the only income I had from PA was unemployment income, firstly does Pennsylvania collect state taxes on unemployment income, and if NO, do I even need to file a state return with PA?
Answer:Hi. Pennsylvania gives the income taxes withheld back if you owe no income tax to Pennsylvania. That commonwealth has a line on the PA-40 wherewith the taxpayer can subtract his unemployment compensation back off. The IRS taxes it; the states allow you to subtract it. You have to file with Pennsylvania to get that money back that you had to pay in to the fund. It's the same with any income tax that Pennsylvania withheld from you.
