I Have A Question About Taking A Peter Pan Bus From Boston.?
I want to take the Peter Pan Bus from Boston to a location in Connetcicut. The bus then goes on to New York City. I understand that buying a ticket in advance does not give you a reservation. What happens if more passengers show up for that particular bus on the day I need to travel?
Also, should I buy the ticket in advance? Their web site mentions that their are surcharges for weekend and othere peak travel. Does anyone know how much these surcharges are?

Answer:I have taken this bus many times - from Bridgeport CT to the South Station or Newton stations. Buy in advance if possible and you will save some money, but prices have risen a lot in the past few years. You can't get reserved seats but they always have room. It can be a bit more expensive to travel during peak time - obviously due to demand. There are memberships you can get if you need to travel a lot, such as student advantage cards or AAA. Also, check out Amtrak as well, it has the same stations for the most part, and can be a lot shorter (with no layovers or having to switch mid trip), Amtrak is a little more expensive, but a lot more realxing. Anorthere tip - depending on the station you leave from, your bus may be a greyhound for the first half of the trip - be sure to check with the bus driver to verify where it is going - but be aware of this. I have missed a few buses due to not knowing the bus would not say peter pan (or vice versa). Good luck!

Which Is Better...the Peter Pan Bus Or Fung Wah Bus From Boston To New York City?
My friends and I are staying in Boston for a week and want to make a day trip to NYC, because we've never been. Two bus companies have many scheduled trips and I wanted to know whichh one was better. There is a difference in cost (Peter Pan: $100 round-trip, Fung Wah: $30 round trip) We'll pay eithere price, just want the better bus. THANKS!
Answer:Ok, please listen to me. I had the horrible experience of traveling on a Fung Wah bus to NY. Horrible is almost too nice of a word. The bus did not have working air conditioning, and in July, it was unbearable. The bus continued to overheat, so we had to stop every 30 minutes to let the engine cool down, right on the side of the highway. Since that delaid us considerably, our driver decided to make up time by speeding in NY city at dangerous speeds. We were concerned about our safety. When we arrived theree was a mob, whichh was the people waiting to get note the bus, no orderly line at all, just people pushing and shoving to get on the bus, because it is oversold. One woman commented how she was getting on the same broken bus she took theree 3 days prior! I ended up taking the train back, same time, much safer and more room. Right after this, the same bus caught on fire and drove for a long time ON FIRE because the driver could not understand the passengers telling him the bus was on fire. Then a little later a bus overturned on an offramp because he was speeding (trying to make up for lost time again?). Seriously, pay the extra money, take Peter Pan or the train. Your safety depends on it.
