pregnant Cat?

i think my cat is pregnant, and it was completely accidental. but do pregnant cats nipples, do they have white around them and are they hard, as if swollen? theyre not SUPER pink and they're not normal cat nipple color, do u think she is pregnant and do pregnant cats have the white stuff around their nipples??? Also..... Are the tips of their nipples supposed to be white?

Answer:signs of pregnancy 1,reddening nipples,-this is known as pinking up,and occurs about the 3rd week of pregnancy(cat only pregnant for 9 weeks.) 2,gradual weight gain 1-2 kgs depending on how many kittens she having. 3,swollen abdomen(don't prod the abdomen to feel for kittens, you could cause serious damage.) 4,behavior changes, when she becomes maternal

How Do You Know A Cat Is Pregnant? Can A Pregnant Cat Be Spayed?

The stray cat I am looking after and intend to get spayed looks pregnant but I am not sure. Her stomach looks a little swollen but again I am not sure. I can clearly see her nipples. But she has 3-month old kittens and until about 6 weeks before she was lactating. She has been leaving her kittens regularly, so I thought if she is still trying to mate, she may not be pregnant yet. If she is pregnant, how risky is it to get her spayed? I do not want to take the risk of putting her through the surgery if it may lead to serious/fatal complications.

Answer:She could very well be pregnant again..if she is not too far along in the pregnancy the vet can and will spay her. How tame is the cat...can you catch her? If not, you can borrow or rent a "Have a heart trap" from a vet or the humane society so that you can get her to the vet for spaying. It would be the best thing if you can get her spayed ASAP so as not to bring more unwanted kittens into the world.

How Is It Legal To Dissect A Pregnant Cat?

I was looking on a online dissection website, and it had a pregnant cat. Unless the cat died while pregnant, for natural causes most likely, how can it be legal? ? That's a C-Section. I meant dissection. Like this: http://bio.bd.psu.edu/cat/Urogenital_System/index.htm#Urogenital%20system%20(Pregnant%20female%20cat) :( Sorry,I did say dissection.

Answer:Sometimes the laws can be pretty lenient when it comes to scientific research and discovery. Dissected cats have usually died of natural causes (like disease or cancer) or unnatural (like hit by a car) and were donated to the university by the humane society. Some cats just happen to be pregnant at the time - but the point is that they were already dead one way or another BEFORE they were sent to the university.

How Should We Take Care Of Our Pregnant Cat?

I've been raised around pregnant cats but they were always at Granny's house. I have one of my own and she's pregnant. She's young and this is her first litter. I don't feel like researching or calling a vet when I know people online won't try to talk me into 'important pre natal cat purchases'. How do I take care of her until birth?

Answer:the most important thing is to make sure she has a good quality food (kitten food is recomended) and has water at all times also make sure to have a large box (cardboard is fine) set up with blankets or towels inside for her to have the babies in.put it in a quiet corner of the house preferably in a room where she spends alot of time. the female may chose another area to have the babies but at least this gives her a good option and you may need to move the kittens after they are born depending on where they are born i just had 2 of my females give birth one in my dresser drawer that i accidently left open and the other in my sons bed so i had to move both litters before they were even 12 hrs old. this is not recomended but is fine as long as the female is very comfortable and trusting with you and shows no signs of stress after the move and continues to care for the kittens. you may want to have thread and scissors on hand if you are there for the birth as well as a few exrta clean towels as the mother may not know what to do at first but it is doubtful they will actually be needed. if there is a stillborn kitten which happens sometimes i would remove it as soon as you get a chance to. you may try to revive it by rubbing it vigorously with a towel if this doesnt work it was probably dead before she went into labor which sometimes happens. well i hope this has helped you out some.

What Are The Signs That My Pregnant Cat Is About To Give Birth? And How Long After These Will Labor Start?

Her due date is four days from now, but I've read that labor can occur earlier so I want to be prepared. Will appreciate answers from cat moms who have first-hand experience with pregnant cats. Thanks

Answer:A cat is normally pregnant for nine weeks. Her over friendliness towards you is natural behavior for a pregnant cat. However your cat will decide what she wants to do when she does have the kittens she may go and find a dark hide away to be on her own or she may feel happy enough to have her kittens in a box you want to provide for her. The first signs of labor can be quite subtle she will take herself away to her birthing space and you will see her tummy start to ripple with the contractions. Don't worry most cats are quite able to give birth on their own and their should not be any need for you to intervene.
