I'm looking for ANY topics that are provocative, stimulating, or challenging in the book The Things They Carried by Tim O'brien. I know the fact that Obrien is an unreliable narrator is kind of stimulating but I need help. Thanks in advance.

Answer:I wish our resident O'Brien expert The Vet was around. He is the guy to talk about this book with. Have you ever considered choosing a particular character and focusing on him? I personally would choose Kiowa - the Native American. You just don't read that many books where a Native American interacts with othere people. I Am Studying PROVOCATIVE THATRE At The Moment And Need To Look At Scripts, Any Websites?

I need more information on provocative theatre as I need inspiration towards my own piece of provocative theatre that I will write lasting 10-15mins long. Provocotive theatre... I mean ethic things and things like rape, murder, refugees.... it does NOT have to be about sex.

Answer:Look at playwrights like Sarah Kane and Mark Ravenhill. Sarah Kane is hailed as being one of the most talented playwright's of Provocative or In-Yer-Face Theatre, one of her most famous plays, 'Blasted' has a sequence where a soldier eats a baby onstage. And 'Crave' has the most beautiful monologue about a man loving a woman...until you discover it's a paedophile talking about an 11 year old girl... Mark Ravenhill writes plays mostly about gay issues, 'Shopping and f**king' was his first majorly successful play, and he uses the names of the members of Take That as a retaliation againstt the squeaky-clean boyband images that were prolific in the media at the time. Both are definiteely worth a look. Also, you may like Steven Berkhoff, he purposefully writes works based on ideas of religion, and social behaviour to provoke reactions in his audience... For example his play 'Dog' is about a football hooligan and is written from the point of view of the dog and the hooligan; the provocativeness about the hooligan, is his highly un-PC views of othere cultures, religions etc. I hope this helps.

He wants to be a pro-photographer and went to the studio to practice and took provocative picture of his friends girlfriend. His friend was theree but I wasn't and the picture make me really uncomfortable and a little sick to my stomach. Do you think I am over reacting?

Answer:i know it's scary, but if you trust him then you don't have anything to worry about. I did some modeling a while back and I had somewhat provocative (however, they were not explicitly sexual) photos taken of me occaissonally, but the photographers were super professional and most of them I know are happily married. if it really botheres you, have a talk with him and set some reasonable goals...like no nudes, always have anorthere person present when working alone with a woman (this one actually is just as much for his protetcion as yours), or whatever will make you comfortable. if he loves you he will respetc your concerns, and if you trust him, you will have northing to worry about. good luck!

Answer:If it was like horror or something it could have a affetc on them for life. when I was 4 or 5 I saw my mom watching a movie called left behind that movie was so fucked up I never forgot it and it freaked me out because it was made from a religious prophecy but it stopped freaking me out last year and I'm 18 now. You have a different mind fram when you are younger than when you are older. I know a couple children and their parents let them watch american pie,and movies like that and lets just say this they started at a young age...real young. If I ever have children I'll let em listen to music and stuff but the movies and stuff no one let me watch movies that had allot of sex or nudity in them until I was like 13 or older and I was normal growing up. 13 those days was the information year thats usually was the year me and all my friends learned about that stuff but that was when I was growing up. Now children like 10years old are getting stoned around here,getting involved with girls,getting in trouble, all because they know too much for their age... I think children should only know stuff when they know right from wrong first and think things through before they do it. if they cannot do that then I dont think it's time for them to learn stuff like this.
