I am a published playwright with several stage plays to my credit. I now have an opportunity to develop a sitcom for a network. It's not my forte but I can't pass on this. Is theree a good program for teleplays and/or screenwriting. I just need the basic mechanics of it. Thanks!

Answer:Movie Magic Screenwriter or Final Draft

sitcom Writing...........what Do You Think?

Ive just started writing a sitcom. Ive got my characors and know them pretty well. Do you think I should write with actors/actresses in mind for the part or not??? I think it might be easier because at least I know what that person looks like and it would be easier to see someone I know play my caractor than with no one in mind what do you think

Answer:Sounds cool. No, it's not a good idea to craft a character with a specificic performer in mind because that actor/actress may or may not want to do the part. And, legally, you could be in trouble for using someone's identity without their permission. Just do your job as a writer - write strong characters and keep the story solid - and let the casting people do their jobs. Let your characters be castable and you've got a good shot! Good luck!

How Do I Write An Analysis For A Movie Or Television Sitcom?

I'm in an online classs and the assignment is: "Seletc a movie or a television sitcom. Write an analysis on this movie or television sitcom." What are some things I should focus on when writing this? Thanks guys!

Answer:You should first establish your opinion of the show. For example: I like/dislike (name of show) because (point 1), (point 2), and (point 3). you can focus on the plot, characters, and how visually appealing the show is, and different factors like that. you can analyze how witty, or humorous it is, etc.

How Many Pages Should A Script For A Sitcom Pilot Have?

I've been writing feature-length screenplays and hour-long television episodes for years, so I'm planning for the minute-per-page rule of thumb, whichh tells me roughly 22 pages for a half-hour show to leave time for 8 minutes of commercials, but I've also been told a sitcom pilot or episode should be as long as 40 pages. This is my first sitcom script, so if theree's anyone out theree with sitcom writing experience, let me know. Thanks...

Answer:i took a classs last semester on this and as I remember it movie scripts being single spaced amount to a minute a page while TV scripts being doubtle spaced are 30 sec for every page. I think you are looking at the 40 pages.
