How Much Of The Money We Donate To Unicef Is Swallowed Up By Administrative Costs.?

Unicef has been advertising during the recent crisis in Lebanon using heart wrenching images. I would like to donate to a charity which directs donations to where it is needed, providing shelter food water. What percentage of donated funds does Unice spend in war torn troubled areas, and how much goes to their admin?.

Answer:Probably about 5%. The rest goes for cars, penthouses, gifts, bank accounts, clothing, etc, etc, etc....(and maybe a hooker or two)!!

How Does Rotary Helps The Poor Compare To UNICEF?

Whats is the difference between Rotary and UNICEF?

Answer:Rotary is a membership/service organization. It primarily fundraises, through its membership, for international efforts, and sponsors some projects in the developing world. UNICEF is not a membership organization. It is a very large agency that has people trained in health care, children's education, and other sectors that can directly impact the health and well-being of children in the developing world. They have many more projects than Rotary, and also engage in research the provides statistics to groups like Rotary regarding children's well-being in the developing world. One is not better than the other; they have different approaches, and are very different in terms of size and budget.

Do You Find These UNICEF Ads A Little Disconcerting?

Does every celebrity on E! work for unicef now? Do they get paid? Is that where the money is going? I know it sounds silly but I think it's even sillier that they are asking Americans who are barely staying above the povery lines in the US to give advice on saving the world. Yes - we all have iPods and Xboxes but if you take those away then we are a third world nation ourselves... What do you think?

Answer:No, I don't! Personally, I think the reason that some celebrities are representing UNICEF is because they thought by doing so, it would raise awareness. And so what if a celebrity works with UNICEF? Just because they're a celebrity, they can't help people? And not every American is "barely staying above the povery lines in the US." (You meant poverty there, right?) There are many Americans who are very well off. And even though you or those barely above the line might not be doing great or don't have a lot, there ARE other people in the world who have even less, or nothing! 80% of the population in Haiti is actually UNDER the poverty line! Did you know that one dollar here is worth almost 8 times that in China? 45 times that in Haiti? 217 times that in Sudan? Have you been to any of these places? Do you even know what you're talking about? No one's asking you to "save the world." God forbid you help out someone less fortunate than yourself. And no- we do NOT all have iPods and Xboxes, and how is it if we take those away then we're a third world nation? Tell me, do you know what a third world nation is? Well, if you don't, I can assure you that if even if we don't have iPods and Xboxes, we're not one. That's what I think.
